旅行是抽離與邂逅Travel is about detachment and encounters
止與觀，兩者都是認識這個世界的方式。止—是為了能在另一個平行時空回望自己，而抽離那樣的陷入與妥適。當置身於另一個鏡面般的世界，錯置的時空能同步映照出自己當下的心志。觀—在保持開放而微妙的時間感中，通透的我們得以邂逅未來的各種機緣。 已知是一個經常回放的心志迴路，在經驗規格中提供維繫並支撐眼前世界的脈絡，也就是安穩。不過，透過旋轉門般的旅行，可以見識和體驗更多元的詮釋和應對方法。在這個不間斷流動的時空中，心志像呼吸般的自在開放，讓我們更寬容的面對這個世界與自己的可能。 Both stillness and observation are ways of understanding the world. Stillness—is about being able to look back at oneself in another parallel universe, thus detaching oneself from that sense of being trapped or complacent. 藝術與議題 Art and Issues
近年來，我在創作中所面對的課題是“寫意”和“抽象”。前者是創作者詩情下的“東方情懷”(oriental trend)，而後者其實是藝術實踐時的“創作方法論”(methodology)。作為當代的東方雕塑創作者，在心物之間，其實兩者互為表裡；而在造形的營造作用上也相輔相成。 寫意的本質是“抒情暢志”，而其詮釋意向經常帶有敘事、描寫的情緒，為的是主觀舖陳一場華麗的“意境”(artistic conception)。而抽象就我而言，是執行藝術實踐的客觀手段、方法和材料，是在過程中選擇相對具有說服力的“構成方式”(construction)。是以，心境的表達可以紙短情長而餘音繚繞，當代雕塑的呈現當然也適用以簡馭繁、少即是多(less is more)。寫意呼風喚雨於心念之間，而抽象則是弱水三千只取一瓢飲。 形色俐落、言簡意賅或許能形容我看待美學事物的心得，同時也是作品所展現的純淨性格。期望自己的創作致力於作品形質上淬鍊精辟的見解，也能在心物之間，體現優雅詩境的和諧美好。

造形與色彩版本 Form and Version of Color
喜歡造形的流動性。 而色彩正是詮釋情緒與張力流動性的主調。同一個造形，如果穿上不同的色彩，好比穿著不同戲服，卻說著同一句台詞的孿生兄弟。色彩是情緒的法相，也是我們當下心境映照的情調，是流動的。 創作裡所展現的心象，一如創作者內心世界的顯露：纖細敏銳與狂放不覊、湖平如鏡或風起雲湧，都是心中小島上的氣象。創作詮釋的過程，其實也在釐清自己的本質。而在層層剝解的理性技術脈絡下，最迷人的還是那個感性靈魂所主導的故事。 I love the fluidity of form. 抽象與寫意 Abstract and Freehand
抽象與寫意的探討，是十年前自己博士論文中的一段論述。就我的觀點而言，抽象是一種方法論，為將事物化繁為簡的邏輯，帶有思辨與取捨的判斷。而寫意是一種東方情懷，在文思感性中抒發概念化的美感意象。 所以，“把酒邀明月，對影成三人”在寫意裡，明月、影子和人可以是等比、擬人的對象，也都是情思的表徵。但抽象的意義，其實是在簡化過程中展現“庖丁解牛”的清明思路，最終的成果是人們認知的最大公約數。 反覆斟酌在抽象方法論、東方情懷間的探索，其實也就是近年來在雕塑創作上形與意的展現。 The discussion of abstraction and freehand brushwork is a passage from my doctoral dissertation ten years ago.
